We do not love because we love. We only love because we were loved. Once we recognise how much God loved us by sacrificing his only son, Jesus to die for our sin we are always filled with awe and wonder. How could we ever comprehend God’s mercy and grace? Now that we have been loved we are commanded to love others. And we have a perfect example of true love. Jesus Christ, the righteous one who loved sacrificially.
